In the ancient Near East and Greece there was a tradition of a goddess called "Mistress of the Animals," who was to help humans subdue animals. I thought it was time we outgrew our need to dominate nature, so I imagined a woman who, instead of being a ruler of nature, is a participant. Instead of struggling to tame the animals, she dances with them.
